Senja Camp! You’re asking if we could do skitouring on a low budget? Yes- we can!
Northern Explorers
Svalbard
We once tried to carry out a similar expedition—the scenario for northern explorers was written by life itself: we set off to go ski touring as far north as possible. The avalanche conditions were so extreme that in the beautiful Magdalenefjord there wasn’t a single spot safe from avalanche risk. So, we decided not to waste time and headed toward the ice edge near 80°N. We visited stunning glaciers, climbed growlers, and eagerly embraced the wonders of the Arctic!
Back then, we had no idea that there was a fjord so far north where snow reaches the waterline even at the end of June. We discovered this place while sailing this year! Next spring, we’ll be exploring it on skis for the very first time.
This is not a trip for those who expect powder touring—our late departure is intentional. Milder temperatures allow for longer ski tours while still giving us time to sail and immerse ourselves in the breathtaking Arctic.
There will be no guide on this expedition. The skipper, expedition leader, and bosun are all volunteering their time, which is why—even though the trip is longer—the cost remains nearly the same! Experience matters—before booking your spot, please reach out to us!

Welcome to the capital of Svalbard- the land of polar bears. The amount of snow this time of year might surprise a tourist, but definitely not a ski touring team!

We aim to sail north quickly and efficiently. First stop and first ski tour near Prince Charles Island! No one said it would be easy- right after rhe tour, we lift anchor and sail far north!

This is the place we reached on June 23, 2025. Snow all the way to the waterline- with peaks ranging from 800 to 1000 meteres within touring distance! Believe us- at this time of year, no other part of Spitsbergen has such extensive snow coverage. Across the fjord: glaciers and couloirs. Spending 2-3 days here will be worth it!

This is what the ice edge looked like in 2022—at 80°N. A vast field with significant waves, water temperature around -3°C. At this time of year, one day of sailing is enough to reach this stunning sight—it’s truly impressive!

This is the very place from which the famous and tragically ended balloon expedition to the North Pole departed in 1897, led by Swedish polar explorer Salomon August Andrée. Across the bay on Amsterdamøya Island, you can often find traces of polar bears, and on the eastern tip of the island lies another walrus colony!

We put on survival suits and jump in! If someone prefers to stay dry- we invite you to get closer to the glacier from the deck.

We arrive at the northernmost permanent settlement in the world. Ny-Ålesund is also known as the starting point of Roald Amundsen’s expedition to the North Pole and later the expedition of Umberto Nobile. You can still find remnants of the mooring site of the airship Norge. Today, the town serves as an international research campus—and one of its highlights is a social bar serving the cheapest drinks in the Arctic! We may also visit Ny London or sail toward the Blomstrandbreen glacier.

If conditions allow, we'll finish with a ski tour in Trygghamna. If not, we'll visit Barentsburg or St. Jonh Fjord.

This is what Longyearbyen may look like in early spring- we'll say goodbye to the Arctic with unforgettable expedition memories!
This schedule shows one possible version of the route. The actual itinerary depends on weather conditions. Crew changes between stages 1 and 2 may occur via plane, ferry, or bus. The return crew will complete the route in reverse.
The map shows just one possible version of the sailing plan. The actual route depends on the weather conditions at sea at the time of the expedition. The amount of time spent at sea depends on the crew’s willingness to sail. The captain is responsible for safety and therefore has the final say in choosing the route.
IMPORTANT! Depending on current circumstances and COVID-related guidelines, we reserve the right to change the route, including limiting the voyage to the Baltic Sea region.
If the planned route cannot be completed, the berth cost will be reduced to 123PLN/day.
Sailing the Arctic for over 10 years! We warmly invite you abourd our flagship vessel! Feel free to ask us for more details.
Our captains have spent many seasons in the Arctic. For safety, we have satellitecommunication on board and strictly follow procedures to protect ourselves from unexpected encounters with polar bears. All land visits are conducted under the supervision of someone familiar with the terrain and equipped with hunting rifles.
According to some, the most beautiful fjord in Spitsbergen. Turqoise waters and a sandy lagoon… If it weren’t for the steady +5°C, we might feel like we were in Greece.
Polar bears, walruses, reindeer, arctic foxes, whales- this is their world, and we are only guests 😉
