Winter doesn’t scare us!
Join us for a week-long cruise starting our annual trek to the far north.
From Szczecin, we’ll sail across the wintery Baltic Sea to the tip of Denmark to Skagen.
Along the way, we’ll pass under the Swedish shoreline through the famous ship traffic circle, Copenhagen awaits us in the Sund Strait, and at the gateway to the Kattegat, the picturesque Hamlet Castle. If the wintry Kattegat is friendly, maybe we can visit one of its islands, or drop in on picturesque Varberg!
Snow on deck, icicles on the rails are not a problem we have properly prepared the yacht – after the watch you can bask in a warm berth.
A real winter milebuilder + a Baltic challenge for the brave ones!
Although the area is well known, it hides several gems that are worth visiting.

We meet in the center of Szczecin! We sail swiftly to Swinoujscie
A quick flight to Copenhagen or Malmo - as a rule 24 hours of non-stop sailing is enough - a matter of weather. Despite the fact that this is the Baltic Sea, we are sailing through a very interesting and navigationally difficult area. Heavy ship traffic and windmill farms will not make navigators bored. We can make the sailing more difficult by taking a shortcut through Falsterbo.
Everyone knows Malmo, Copenhagen and Helsingor - and here are some real gems like Backviken on the island of Ven - it's worth choosing at least one port! Which one? Neptune will probably decide!
The beautiful Varberg, the Swedish skerry coast or finally the islands of Anholt or Laeso make this part of sailing very interesting. One could spend a whole week here.
The map contains only one of the possibilities of the cruise plan. The actual route depends on the weather conditions in the body of water at the time. The amount of time spent at sea depends on the willingness to sail of the entire crew, safety is supervised by the captain - so it is up to him to make the final decision on the choice of the route.
We happened to sail 50h in 3 days and arrived in Skagen with a 30-minute stop in Helsingor.
We sail through a very interesting and navigationally difficult waters. Large ship traffic and windmill farms will keep navigators busy.
Let’s sail to Copenhagen, we can see the colorful Nyhavn harbor, the famous mermaid (according to legend – the sister of the one in Warsaw) and the very interesting Free City of Christiania with its own law and currency.
But why not choose Sweden and dock in Malmo, which wonderfully combines modern architecture with traditional buildings?
Mystic VEN has a very interesting history-the island passed from Danish to Swedish hands, and was considered a place full of magic, its owner was Tycho Brahe-an eccentric astronomer/alchemist-who lost his nose in a drunken duel-who later used prostheses of this body part made of various metals;-) Today there is no motorized transport on the island so, as it were, time has stopped here.
ANHOLT – is a desert-dune- almost desert island recently enjoying its own edition of Gin! The approach to the harbor is difficult unless you have up-to-date maps-we do;-)
Læsø- The largest of the islands- it is said that the land here is best explored on the back of a mount- to swoop between cliffs, dunes and meadows to see houses built of seaweed- is this possible in winter? Do you want to find out?
Although it’s still a long way to the Arctic from here, there’s a chance to spot seals lounging on the beach in Skagen.In Norway, short treks in the surrounding hills await us!
