After landing, at least three major attractions await us:
An overnight stay before heading to the yacht will be very useful!

Embarkation day — this is where our sea adventure begins! Provisioning, handing over the car to the previous crew, and off we go. We won’t set sail without trying our luck fishing for cod right after departure!

We leave the popular northern attractions behind and head towards less‑travelled routes. Raufarhöfn is one of the hidden harbours on Iceland’s north‑eastern coast. A short trek to a nearby peninsula is one of the local highlights.

Two days of sailing and several possible scenarios. We may reach Seyðisfjörður directly — if so, we’ll continue even further. Otherwise, we have two safe harbours along the way: Vopnafjörður and the tiny Borgarfjörður Eystri.

With time in reserve, we may sail on to Djúpivogur, taking in additional attractions along the way — including Neskaupstaður and more than one breathtaking fjord.

Most likely we will return to Seyðisfjörður, or possibly reach Höfn.

We get back into the car — ahead of us are the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, Svartifoss, and Skógafoss waterfalls. In fact, it’s well worth planning another two days to explore this area properly!
Our “Join Us” is a fully equipped expedition yacht, perfectly suited for demanding conditions. When the weather gets rough, we can steer from the protected interior helm station, and thermal comfort is ensured by three independent onboard heating systems.
Fascinating cuisine, incredible people, breathtaking landscapes- all accompanied by whales, puffins and… GLACIERS!
Icelanders love outdoor bathing, no matter the season- hot pools and open-air baths are an essential parts of local life, even in the middle of the winter 😉
After sailing around the north- eastern part of island, the perfect complement to the journey is exploring Iceland’s western side. On the way to the airport, it’s well worth adding an extra day- or even several days- for sightseeing and discovery.
The map shows only one of the possible cruise itinerary options. The actual route depends on the weather conditions prevailing in the sailing area at any given time. The amount of time spent at sea depends on the crew’s willingness to sail; however, safety is always supervised by the skipper, and therefore the final decision regarding the route rests with the captain.
