Greenland- Feel the difference!
Land of Icebergs / Solar Eclipse 2026
Most voyages to Scoresby Sund begin and end in Iceland. We’ve decided to save you time sailing across the Arctic Ocean. Unpredictable weather can thwart the goal of the expedition – so we begin the adventure directly in the world’s largest fjord. It’s so vast that a week is the minimum time worth attempting to sail through it. But should you rush? That’s why we’ve prepared two route options – 7 and 14 days. On the longer one, we’ll witness a total solar eclipse! We sail at the best time – in the heart of Greenland’s summer. Two routes to choose from – the ice will likely help you pick the right one!

We land in the wilderness and walk to the yacht – a fully equipped vessel awaits us. If the weather allows, we immediately head toward Hekla Havn.
I. We sail to Sol Glacier, then to Viking Bay – a perfect introduction to Scoresby Sund.
II. On the 14-day trip, we also visit Gaasefjord – where you can get closer to a glacier than anywhere else.
I. An old Inuit settlement over 200 years old and the site of the first winter scientific expedition to Scoresby Sund over a century ago.
II. On the longer trip, we again visit Gaasefjord.
I. Entering Fohnfjord – 35 nautical miles long, narrowing with steep basalt cliffs up to 300m high. On the longer trip, we anchor halfway for salmon fishing. Then we sail to Rødefjord – between Rode Island and the mainland lies a shallow area with hundreds of small icebergs. We’ll launch our superdinghy and explore the icy maze.
Night watches are essential here – growlers of various sizes drift south.
We continue to Harefjord – often home to musk oxen and grouse, perfect for trekking.
On the longer trip, we also visit Rypefjord – rich in wildlife.
Sailing through the dramatic Ø Fjord, we admire mountains rising up to 2000m – truly spectacular!
I. A group of islets forming natural harbors – we dock at Jyttes Havn, a stunning natural port. Short trekking recommended.
II. On the longer trip, we stay here for 2 days or sail to Sydkap – another beautiful trekking opportunity.
The northernmost permanent human settlement in the world! A gem saved for the end of the 7-day trip – on the longer trip, we’ll likely visit twice.
Few places in the world where the airport has a port – like true explorers, we sail to the airport, drop anchor, and land on the shore!
The schedule shows one possible version of the route.
The actual itinerary depends on meteorological conditions. Crew changes between stages 1 and 2 may take place via air, ferry, or bus.
The return crew will sail the route in the opposite direction.
The map shows only one possible version of the sailing route.
The actual route depends on the weather conditions prevailing in the area at the time. The amount of time spent at sea depends on the crew’s willingness to sail. The captain is responsible for safety, and therefore has the final say in choosing the route.
IMPORTANT! Depending on the current situation and COVID guidelines, we reserve the right to change the route, including limiting the voyage to the Baltic Sea region.
If the planned route cannot be completed, the berth cost will be reduced to PLN 123/day.
We’ll do several. Weather can change rapidly – from sunshine to snowstorm in minutes. In calmer areas, we’ll bring snowshoes!
Musk oxen, grouse, and bears are common. Walruses are harder to spot. Check out the 2025 photo gallery – guess what was easiest to “capture”?
Try your hand at fishing – the first days of the trip are perfect for it!
Navigating through icebergs and pack ice is a core part of the voyage.
During the longer trip, we’ll witness a total solar eclipse – a rare and unforgettable experience!
